Feather Touch Brows

The treatment can also be known as Feathering, Micro Pigmentation, Brow Microblading, Derma Graphics, Eyebrow Embroidery, 3D Brows, Hyper-realism Brows or Feather Stroke Brows.

Complete Skin and Beauty Senior Therapists are certified in performing the microblading technique.  A single-use microblade is used to create fine, hair-like strokes that seamlessly blend and mimic hair weaved amongst existing hairs to create a natural looking three-dimensional brow.

Also offered in select salons is Micro shading otherwise known as Combo brows which combines the natural hair like strokes achieved with microblading with a manual shading to create a soft 3D looking eyebrow. Combo brows are a great option to provide a more filled in pixalated eyebrow when micro blading strokes are not enough.

• Do not work out the day of the procedure.
• Do not tan or have a sunburned face.
• Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E or Ibuprofen 24 hours beforehand.
• No alcohol or caffeine on the day of the procedure.
• No brow waxing for 3 days pre procedure.
• No brow tinting for 2 weeks before procedure.

Please note that you will be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle.

The Following treatments are not recommended 30 days before the treatment:

• Anti Wrinkle Injections and Fillers
• Fruit or Milk acids
• Laser Treatments
• Chemical Peels
• Exposure to strong sunlight

Should be done immediately

• NO exercise or extended direct sunlight for 7 days to prevent the feather touch brow becoming infected.
• The tattooed area will appear darker and bolder, as well as more sharply defined. This will last up to a week.
• During the 6-8 week healing process, the tattoo will soften and lighten. Although the true color will appear after at least 6 weeks.
• Redness and swelling is usually minimal, and will disappear within 48 hours, in rare case it may reach 3 days.
• The treated area may feel a bit like sunburn afterwards but there should be minimal discomfort.
• Clients may experience a headache following the feather touch tattoo treatment.
• Make sure hands are washed thoroughly before touching the tattooed area.
• Keep the tattooed area clean by rinsing with lukewarm water and patting dry with a disposable paper towel.
• While showering or bathing, avoid using any soaps or cleansers on the treated area for the first day unless prescribed by your therapist as they can be detrimental to the bonding process that must take place for the pigment to stabilise in the dermis.  Only use balm sold on the day of treatment for the following week.
• Please note after care advice with respect to wetting and cleansing the brow area will be dependent on the pigments used by your therapist. Please follow the advice given post treatment and consult your salon if you have any queries.

• DO NOT pick or scratch at the dry skin/flakiness; let the skin fall off naturally. Picking can cause scarring and premature loss of pigment. IMPORTANT: Once the flakes have fallen off, a shiny layer of healing skin will completely cover the hair strokes. It may appear as though the tattooed area has completely disappeared.

Within 1-2 weeks, your feather touch eyebrows  will slowly reappear at a lighter shade as your skin regenerates.

• DO NOT apply make-up to the tattooed area for the first 2 weeks. Chemicals of any kind may interfere with the healing and color of your tattoo.
• Once the treated area is completely healed, any changes or additions that need to be made can be done at your follow-up appointment no sooner than 6 weeks later.
• The colour of your feather touch tattoo will be extremely dark during the first 5 to 7 days. 7 days later, it loses 40 to 50% intensity.

Your feather touch brows tattoo therapist will firstly map out the shape of your eyebrows and consult with you on the colour and expectations. If you are unsure or it is your first visit we generally recommend to start with feathers (microblading only) as we can also look to add shading or more strokes in your follow up appointment when you come back for your perfection visit.

Once brows are mapped and prepared, numbing cream is applied to make the treatment more tolerable. The first pass with the blade is a little uncomfortable but the pain is bearable, feeling a little like a kitten scratch. Your feather touch eyebrow tattoo therapist will apply pressure to the brows throughout the treatment with a cold compress which will soothe the skin and alleviate bleeding while also helping to prevent the brows from swelling.

Due to the nature of the treatment, you may get watery eyes, or notice some sinus blockage. As you will be lying still and completely flat throughout the duration, we do discourage the consumption or caffeine or alcoholic beverages as the appointment may take anywhere from 1-2 hours.

Unlike the buzz of a tattoo gun, the blading technique does have a scraping sound as it moves through the hairs while the shading can sound a little like a plucking noise. Often feedback from clients is that the noise rather than the actual strokes is more off-putting and can be managed by distracting yourself with your favourite Spotify playlist. It is also worth noting that the micro shading technique can get a little messy with pigment splatter on the face. More details will be providing in your initial consult and your therapist will reassure you throughout the treatment about what is happening.

Your new feather touch brows will go through several phases during the healing cycle. The pigment will appear very sharp and dark immediately after the procedure. This is because the pigment is still sitting on top of the skin and has not settled in completely. The colour of the pigment will soften gradually. Do not be alarmed if you see some pigment on the cotton swab as this is excess pigment or bodily fluid that is naturally exiting your skin.

Once the healing of the skin starts taking place, it will look like dandruff flakes or dry skin. This might give you the impression that the color pigment is fading too quickly. However, this is just superficial color and dry skin being removed from your eyebrows.

Once completely healed, always apply a sunscreen of SPF 30 and up to SPF 50 on your eyebrows when exposed to the sun. Sun exposure might cause the color pigment to fade more quickly.
