Eyelash extensions have become increasingly popular in the last few years but if you are new to the world of eyelash extensions, it can take some time to understand what the difference is and the terminology your lash technician uses.
All eyelash extensions are designed to make your eye pop! Give you that brighter, awake and put together look without the need for make-up or the risk of the half day mascara smudge and flake on your cheeks and the top of your eyelids.
But what is the difference between Classic, Volume and Hybrid Lashes?
What are Silk Individual Eyelash Extensions?
Silk individual eyelash extensions are simple, beautiful and natural-looking lash extensions (think of them like mascara without the mess!) They are applied on a 1:1 ratio which means one extension on one natural lash. Silk individuals allow you to achieve an understated, natural enhancement.
If you want eyelash extensions but are not sure on what you want, silk individuals are a great place to start. Silk individuals come in a range of different lengths, thicknesses and curls and can be customized to your own eye shape.
The biggest difference is in the result you can achieve with each, classic lashes won’t add volume but it will add length and builds
on your natural lashes. These lashes are super soft and you should not be able to even notice that they are there!
What are Volume Eyelash Extensions?
Volume eyelash extensions offer you a full, fluffy, better-than falsies look that are totally customizable to give you subtle glamour to serious drama! Volume Lashes involve applying a fan of lash extensions to your own individual lash. So unlike the 1:1 ratio for classic lashes, with volume lashes, you may have 1:3 or 1:5 which is how the volumised look is achieved.
2D, 3D, 4D, 5D define the number of lashes in each fan for example 3D is 3 lash extensions hand fanned and applied to one of your lashes. 2D and 3D volume lashes can give you a natural, voluminous look while 4D-6D give a a more full and dramatic look.
What are Hybrid Eyelash Extensions?
Hybrid lashes are the perfect combination of both silk individual lashes and volume eyelash extensions. Hybrid eyelash extensions give you the best of both worlds! Hybrid Lashes give that textured volume while still looking natural. Hybrid Lashes offer a wispy, natural lash line with a little drama. The look is achieved by mixing silk and volume lashes along the lash line to give varied texture and more volume. Generally Hybrid lashes have a 30:70 ratio with 30% silk-individuals and 70% volume but this can be customised by your therapist.
What’s better, Silk, Hybrid or Volume Lashes?
Whatever you want! The best thing about lashes is that they are customisable to how you want them. You can achieve very dramatic full lashes with volumes or a little bit of oomph with hybrids or just an every day to day make-up free natural accentuation with silk-individuals.
And if you aren’t sure, discuss the options with us, call the salon to speak with your therapist who can answer all your queries.
